To quote from site’s introduction: “The Steedman Architecture Collection at the St. Louis Public Library is a small but remarkable library of influential and rare architectural publications.”

The purpose of the exhibit is to offer the public a look at the collection’s most important works, and the structure of the site and its interface are designed to encourage exploration.

The site is organized in a similar fashion to the 1904 World’s Fair Exhibit. It consists of a series of beautiful landing pages based on subject areas in the collection. Each landing page links to several more detailed pages. Here, the user can read detailed text, view a series of related images from the collection (incuding high resolution versions), and read more about each of the images.

We developed a visually elegant interface using color, typography, and decorative elements from pieces in the collection.
